The pores are essential for skin health because they provide the grease that keeps the skin soft and hydrated. However, its existence is necessary is evident every time you look in the mirror. When enlarged, infected or clogged with grease, the pores become more prominent and appear larger than they are. While it is not possible to permanently reduce large pores, there are a number of ways to make them less noticeable.
Causes of large pores
There are two main factors that contribute to dilate the pores: genetics and age. People whose skin is naturally thick and fat, tend to have larger pores. Also, as you get older, the damage produced by the sun and less elasticity of the skin makes the pores to dilate. The skin thickens and makes small cells gather around the edge of the pores and make them appear larger. Black spots also contribute to enlarge the pores. When the pore gets clogged with dirt and bacteria, fat within the pore begins to build up and makes the pore diameter spread.
