I’m a cosmetology student, I need to do work relating to the behavior of the skin, my question is: why we age? Thanks
Living things need oxygen but its metabolism produces free radicals, which are natural waste. These molecules are highly reactive chemical that oxidizes the cell, as if it were an old iron exposed to the weather. To avoid the proliferation of free radicals have cells that activate antioxidant mechanisms. Over time these mechanisms begin to fail and there are a greater accumulation of free radicals which deteriorate the cell. The most visible consequence is the appearance of wrinkles but it is the same at all levels of our body, so systems are disrupted energy production in cells, causing physical and mental fatigue.
